TULSA – In a show of continued support and appreciation for Oklahoma teachers, Ted’s Cafe Escondido is providing 550 meals for Union Public School District teachers and administrators on Thursday, August 16.
Ted’s has previously made several donations of food and gift cards for teachers across the state of Oklahoma, with the most notable being their 10,000 taco giveaway at the state capitol earlier this year. For Ted’s VP of Operations, David Foxx, though, it still didn’t feel like enough.
“We were overwhelmed by the appreciation we received from teachers after our taco giveaway at the capitol, so we’ve decided to continue our #Tacos4Teachers venture,” said Foxx. “These teachers give so much to their students; the least we can do is give them tacos in return.”
The Union Public Schools food donation comes on the heels of similar donations at Okarche Public Schools in Okarche and Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City earlier this week.
Foxx and the Ted’s team plan to continue their #Tacos4Teachers giveaways into the school year. “We’re doing our best to reach as many teachers as possible with our donations and taco giveaways, but it’s difficult to get to everyone,” said Foxx. “Many schools have reached out to us with donation requests, and we greatly appreciate being informed of these opportunities.” Donation requests can be sent by email to Ted’s Cafe Escondido at [email protected].
